Selling Minerals and Royalties...Making it Legal!

Posted by bernell on December 8, 2014

Folks continue to inquire about selling their royalties and minerals.
We are glad to offer a reputable service for you to do so.

For those unaware, our Minerals Marketplace link can be found at the bottom of this post.

The main thing we want to emphasize here is that the sale of any real estate is going to require legal papers to be signed.  That’s just the nature of the beast.

So, please don’t enter into the process without understanding this.

For example, if you want to sell land you own through a broker you’re going to sign an agreement to do so, which will lay out a legal description of the property offered for sale, the compensation paid to the broker from sales proceeds, etc...
Likewise, if you’re going to sell royalties or minerals, the same process will be involved.
Now, don’t get me wrong, when you sign up on the marketplace website, you are NOT signing the agreement.  Instead, an individual or two will call you to gather information and get things rolling.

Then, the legal stuff happens.

Once the legal documents are signed, things can move forward.
After legal research of your property is completed, you may be offered a price for your property up front and the sale can be completed fairly quickly.  If the price offered is not acceptable, then your property can be listed on our site and elsewhere for sale.
The legal agreement you sign doesn’t commit you to forever.  It allows for your property to be marketed to the best of our folks’ abilities for an initial period of 45 days.

If your property isn’t sold within this period, then the agreement may be extended if there is a mutual agreement to do so.

And that’s it.
Everyone prefers you sign up through our website first.  It allows for an easier beginning to the process of listing the property.

If you aren’t comfortable with signing up online,  then just call the phone number shown and let Arpent know you are calling via the Minerals Marketplace site so they can roll out the red carpet for you.

Questions?
Let us know and we’ll do what we can to get them answered.
